Dioptres (D/dpt./PWR)
Power refers to the refractive power of the contact lens. Look for a plus (+) or minus (-) sign. Note that an equals sign (=) may be used in place of a minus sign.
Curvature (BC)
The base curve describes the curvature of the contact lens surface, i.e. how well the lens fits the shape of your eye.
Diameter (DIA)
The diameter is the width of the contact lens (measured in millimeters). It is not recommended to select a new diameter size without first consulting your optician. Diameter impacts the fit, comfort and functionality of your lenses.
Cylinder (CYL)
The cylinder measurement is used for the correction of astigmatism. It is a negative value that corrects curvature of the cornea.
Cylinder Axis (AX)
The cylinder axis measurement is used for the correction of astigmatism. The value ranges from 0° - 180° and determines the exact position of corneal curvature.
Addition (ADD)
Addition is the difference between the dioptric value for distance vision and the dioptric value for near vision. It indicates the magnifying power in multifocal lenses.

New Acuvue Oasys for Presbyopia are soft, two-weekly contact lenses from Johnson & Johnson. Ideal for sensitive eyes, these multifocal silicone-hydrogel lenses offer exceptional breathability, allowing 98% of available oxygen to reach the eye. And HYDRACLEAR Plus technology keeps them moist at all times too. Why not talk to your optician about switching from Acuvue Oasys weekly lenses? The Acuvue Oasys for Presbyopia with Hydraclear Plus contact lenses can be worn continuously for a week and then discarded, following your optician's confirmation. If worn for a week continuously, they must be discarded, if worn during the day only – can be worn for 2 weeks.
The UV filter in contact lenses increases the protection of the cornea from the dangerous ultraviolet radiation. However, lenses do not cover the entire eye or eye area, so the combination of contact lenses that have UV filter and sunglasses is the ideal protection against harmful UV rays.
The Acuvue Oasys for Presbyopia contact lenses are no longer in production. The only versions available are the ones currently in stock.
